Special delivery - Part 1

You all know about my lovely fashionable friend Iconjane. I am working on a pack of homemade Hotel LaLaLa stickers for her as a thank you note for saying all those great things about me and the hotel. She was such a great guest the last time she stayed here and she wrote wonderful reviews about her stay. Anyways, last week she was spotted at the famed Royalalala Shoe Lounge in her summery yellow skirt and striped tee. Lovely! That's her shopping for shoes and of course blogging about them right after (laptop not pictured).

Becoming Frida

It's another Halloween night! However this year I was so busy with my guests at the hotel that I couldn't get into a costume. I know it's a little disappointing but you know, sometimes you have to put work before other stuff. But we put up "Happy Halloween" signs everywhere at the hotel along with lots and lots of pumpkins, witch hats and broom sticks, the classic stuff. We also hire spiders to hang out at the lobby area just for tonight. Don't worry, they are harmless.

Anyways, I decided to put this picture of me as Frida (you know I kiiiinda like her), from Halloween 2008, on a postcard and placed it at the front desk. It was my favorite costume ever. I hope you had a blast in amazing and creative costumes this year.

Friends with good shoes

My dear friend Deniz visited me at the LaLaLa last week and stayed for a couple of days. She always looks good in all kinds of great clothes but these shoes are especially worth mentioning. Look at these Isabel Marant push-up sneakers she's been wearing here. Everyone at the shoe lounge was super jealous when she was shopping and chatting with me. There is nothing like a friend with good taste, don't you think?

Days of Amstrad

My wonderful dear Nixi shares his geeky knowledge, incredible talent and years of expertise as well as devotion to video games here on Days of Amstrad. He is Hotel LaLaLa's computer and all-things-technology expert who takes care of everything from a simple broken light bulb to a hard-to-pass level in any game on any console. Now he is also available here.

Repetto at Royalalala

Royalalala (Hotel LaLaLa's official street level shoe lounge) has a new shipment from Repetto! My love for granny boots is boosted with this gorgeous pair. They also come in black but this caramel color is my favorite. What do you think?

Minifigures on the walls

I'm back on track with my hotel manager duties today. It's time for more wall decorating! So I looked at my photo archive and found these Lego Star Wars items photographed in the making. I have to say that I'm a proud Lego VIP member. Now our rooms have pictures from the galaxy on their walls!

Cape obsession

I know that I'm posting about clothes a lot lately but I had to talk about my new Topshop cape that arrived in the mail today. I promise I'll go back to my manager duties at the hotel after this one. I've been looking for a nice warm cape since last year and now I have it. This is the one for the late fall weather in San Francisco.

Now back to work.

LaLaLalove red tights

After the wardrobe cleaning, I pulled out some of my favorite looks and tried them on. The first one was the Topshop Kurt Cobain dress. This one is a blue Urban Outfitters skirt which I found in the sale racks for just $10 (and it was the only one left), a Topshop top, brown leather Topshop wedges and American Apparel red tights, which is my favorite part of the outfit.

Hello! It's the manager speaking. My room in the hotel is not very spacious. And of course I live there. I mean it's my home. So I decided to do some wardrobe cleaning today besides my daily hotel duties. And I also decided to share with you some of my favorite clothes that managed to remain in the wardrobe.

Number 1: The Topshop Kurt Cobain t-shirt dress. I just love it.

LaLaLalove Dali

Thought about whose face would look good next to Frida and came up with Dali! Right now at the hotel, all the bathroom doors have those two on the outside.

The first ever LaLaLa sticker competition!

The game is on! First of all, sorry for the extremely late post. You know, it's the high season here in San Francisco and the hotel is super busy. But The LaLaLa is back with what has been promised: STICKERS!

OK, according to the votes on the Hotel LaLaLa product poll, stickers are the most popular. So I present you two beautiful packages filled with 5 stickers - a selection of Hotel LaLaLa characters and posts. Stickers are original illustrations printed at the hotel  and delicately hand packaged. Everything is handmade.

I have a question for you. The first two LaLaLa lovers to comment under this post with the correct answer will get one of the packs mailed to their address. Doesn't matter wherever in the world you are!

We are having a birthday party at the hotel today, all day long. Because 30's deserve day long parties! Happy birthday Nixi!

Here she is: Lady Gaga!

We were a little worried here at the hotel thinking that she might not show up. But finally! She is here! Lady Gaga is at Hotel LaLaLa! I can't tell how excited I am. And the good news is she is staying for a while. Which means more Gaga! I can't wait to see her walk down the stairs every morning, or whatever time she wakes up. Stay tuned! I'll keep you posted about her gossip and fashion of course. Cheers!

Royalalala: New shoe lounge up and running!

LaLaLa proudly presents its new shoe lounge: Royalalala. It is located at the street level shopping area. We are featuring this amazing black bootie by Lanvin as our first pair. More and more pairs are sure to follow. You'll find designer labels, younger and more affordable brands, boots, heels, wedges, flats and even flip flops here. Don't forget to visit Royalalala next time you are shoe shopping.

Good morning everyone! Breakfast is served at the LaLaLa. Everything is fresh form our own kitchen. By the way, our chefs are extremely excited about tomorrow's guest. They are trying recipes day and night to please our first celebrity guest. This is just practice. Tomorrow's the big day! For now enjoy your tea or coffee. (Coffee is the pot on the table just so you know.)

Iconjane visits LaLaLa

My dear friend Iconjane visited the LaLaLa! I booked her one of the biggest rooms, room 1022 to be exact, since she brought 11 suitcases, 3 hat boxes and a laptop case with her. 1022 has the largest closet at the hotel. I hope she can fit her puffy skirts, rainbow tights and the giant ring collection in there.

So we have a few guests this week. These guys are real umbrella makers. Masters actually. So we got their portraits framed for our guests of honor wall.

This guy's name was Joseph but I don't know where he is from. He didn't say. And I can not tell from the accent.

And this is Alfredo from Venezuela. He said he is making umbrellas for 48 years. Amazing.

Hotel LaLaLa loves Tartine. Always.

We recommend our guests to go check out this amazingly delicious bakery. I could have breakfast there every morning if I had a faster metabolism. Or if I were more willing to go to the gym. Anyways, we love Tartine Bakery.

The Moonheads

The Moonhead family checked in late tonight. I gave them room 333. I asked but couldn't understand where they are from though. It was a little hard to communicate. They seemed like nice people anyways. Or whatever they are. We are a pet friendly hotel by the way, the friendliest in the city.
